Fusing 60s garage pop, 70s NY rhythms, 80s LA energy, and 90s post-punk hooks, The Downstrokes play four-on-the-floor rock n roll. On their debut album, New York Girl, they explored their influences from the Kinks and the Patti Smith Group to the Adolescents and the Pixies. On their 2019 E.P from Snubbed Records, they dared listeners to "Fall in Love with Punk Rock Again". Shaking off the virus, the band has done it with their full length album "Unsafe at any Speed," which was named one of The Big Takeover's 50 best records of 2021.
